PRINCIPAL DAVID PAYNE

David Payne studied teaching for 2 years privately in his home, then for 6 years with the lions share of students at the salt lake Paul Green School of Rock Music working under Steve Aurbach (who now runs Music Garage) and later Tony Ollerton (at the Sandy branch of PGSORM). His brother Joshua holds the lions share of students at Dave Murphy's school, the Wasatch Music Coaching Academy. The perspectives he's had through these relationships led him to construct and refine his music program as, in 2008, he had the opportunity to spearhead the work of Rock'n'Roll Academy, under the ownership of Bruce and Lyn Wilson. In summer of 2010, as ownership of the school was turned over to him directly, he had the opportunity to refine the program further into what is presented currently. Music is his passion, and teaching it in a way that is efficient and succesful is his ambition.

David teaches:
Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Sax (flute), cello, vocals, composition, and directs and plays in the duets and 3-piece ensembles.

Since his teen years, David has played in, composed for, and directed countless ensembles and continues to do do.
To see what he does outside of work, here are links to some the music he's working on:

REST30 RECORDS for lots of his music and production
Red Bennies on the guitar and singing
Glinting Gems on the guitorgan and singing
Coyote Hoods on the piano
Purr Bats on the keytar
Ether Orchestra on the drums
Marvin Payne and the Gifted Seed on the drums
Glinting Gems B Squad on Electric Sitar
Starmy on the organ

Here's and article from City Weekly about him outside of school.
